THE LUCKY 7 and MISAMIS UNIVERSITY in MOA SIGNING CEREMONY

The celebration of the 83rd Foundation Anniversary of Misamis University was filled with so much fun and excitement. The exhibition of the different events that showcased various talents and abilities highlighted the university's commitment in keeping the legacy of quality education in Mindanao.

Misamis University is proud to have fulfilled a promise of ensuring the students' future as it embarked on a bold and worthy investment that ensures the fulfillment of their dream career.

During the 83rd Foundation Anniversary, Misamis University entered into MEMORANDA OF AGREEMENT with the LUCKY 7 partners representing the different industries in the country and abroad. These new partners include:

1. WILHELMSEN-SMITHBELL MANNING, INC. as Represented by Capt. Antonio Ladera III, General Manager

WILHELMSEN-SMITHBELL MANNING, INC. commits to hire the maritime graduates of Misamis University on board a cadetship program. These cadets are preferably those who have undergone a structured training program set by Misamis University.

2. OZAMIZ CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and INDUSTRY, FOUNDATION, INC. as represented by Ms. Elvira D. Tan, Chairperson and Mr. Dominador Elemento, President

The OZAMIZ CHAMBER OF COMMERCE and INDUSTRY, FOUNDATION, INC. supports the graduates of Misamis University by providing jobs and employment. OCCIF, Inc. also commits to expand the partnership by introducing Misamis University to other chambers in the country. Through a screening scheme, Misamis University will supply the manpower demand in the province in the different industries.

3. LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITY OF OZAMIZ CITY as represented by Hon. Nova Princess Parojinog Echavez, City Mayor

The local government unit of Ozamiz City enters into partnership with Misamis University in strengthening the LGU's solid waste management system and the City Nutrition Council's PABASA Program. As an academic institution, Misamis University, through the office of the MU Community Extension Project supports the Ozamiz LGU through competency-building programs and information dissemination activities, among others.

4. HUMANITIES HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT INCORPORATED as represented by Mr. Dan M. Navarro, Founding President

As the sole Philippine representative to Royal National Lifeguard Institute (RNLI) in United Kingdom, The Founding President of HHDI, Mr. Dan Navarro has brought to the Philippines the training program that will prevent and control drowning incidents in the region or in the country. By entering into a partnership, HHDI and Misamis University commits to enlarge the community-based education on drowning prevention by introducing the same to concerned organizations and LGU'S while tapping the college of Maritime Education through the university's community extension projects.

5. LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT OF KAPATAGAN, LANAO DEL NORTE as represented by Hon. Benjie Y. Baguio, Municipal Mayor

The MOA includes among many others the commitment of both parties to protect the environment from any damage-causing activity, support for the basic services, and provide for the capability-building seminars and livelihood projects in the locality of Kapatagan LDN.

6. BIONAS PHILIPPINES INC. as represented by Dr. Aznar Zhariff Sarahadil, CEO/President

Consistent to its commitment to protect the environment, Misamis University together with BIONAS Philippines, embraces biogas generation technology from Jetropha plant. While ensuring to augment the economic activities of the farmers in the province of Misamis Occidental, Misamis University also sees a future opportunity from Jetropha farming for the education of the farmers' children.

7. BRILLIANT METAL CRAFT (BMC) WELDING and FABRICATION as represented by Dr. Edward M. Dampor, Sr.

The MOA signing between BMC and Misamis University signals the start of the Canada-bound welding training program in Misamis University. Using the BMC 45-day training technology, the MU-BMC welding program trainees are guaranteed a world-class output and an international job opportunity. The first ever in Mindanao!

These organizations, whose representatives have signed the MOA with the president of Misamis University, Dr. Karen Belina Feliciano De Leon, forged agreements that generally ensure technical support, competency building programs, community and environmental projects and even local and international job opportunities for the university graduates.

Spearheaded by the Special Assistant to the President and Director for PR and Marketing Dr. Orlando D. De Leon, the historic MOA SIGNING CEREMONY will ensure that the Misamis University students are so much closer to achieving their dream careers.
